One painting that I have chosen for this module discussion is Portinari Altarpiece by Hugo van der Goes. It dates back in c.1475. It is oil on wood triptych painting and it represents the Adoration of the Shepherds. The size of the painting is 253*304 cm. today, it can be found in the Galleria degli Uffizi, Florence, Italy. The painting was made for the church of the hospital of Santa Maria Nuova and Portinari served the Medici family for a quite a long time representing them.
